AUTHOR DOSSIER

Davor Sladaković is a visual artist and author based in Munich.

He is the founder of DVCORE, a structural artistic system in which image, text, sign and object operate as interconnected series governed by an internal order.

From 2002 he was active in the field of creative economy in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In 2006 he founded the agency Alta Axis, directing cultural and industry initiatives until 2017 and establishing the international platform Banja Luka International Fashion Fair.

His artistic work develops through photographic series conceived as technical and conceptual systems exploring atmosphere, light, structure and application.

Within this framework photography, text and sign function as parallel artistic media, extending into digital compositions and printed works presented as autonomous artworks.

Alongside photographic work he develops a material practice through Seidan, a small forge dedicated to the hand crafted production of artefacts and amulets.

He also develops KOV, a concise literary form articulated between the literary heritage of Montenegro, his land of origin historically connected with the cultural space of the former Yugoslavia, and the industrial culture of Germany, the country of his birth.

A longstanding dialogue with the artist Relja Penezić, mentor and formative influence, accompanies the intellectual formation of his work and the genesis of the Sotto Axis approach.
